Jesus didn't make the woman at the well feel shame. In fact, her responses were downright snarky, and Jesus seemed to say "I like this woman!"

I never heard any Catholic priest say anything about Jesus calling the woman at the well a sinner. Must be an evangelical thing.
Mr. priest did stress that Jews did NOT go to Samaria. They deliberately walked AROUND it. Nazareth was north of Samaria.
Plus Jewish males did NOT talk to women let alone Samarian women. She probably would have been less surprised if her BUCKET has talked to her.
